the {Tangerine} princess & the pea - Finished!

Yay!! Being the naughty girl that i am... i just finished piecing the top of my month's ( October mind you ) of the { Sew New To Me } virtual quilting bee... sad... i know... cause look at what a fabulous quilt these talented members helped me create!!! You can check out the whole month's progress here. Since this baby is super special to me and it's made with lots of Heather ross' Far Far and Away double gauze... it will be given the spa treatment with a long arm... not my sewing machine ;) I can't wait until I can snuggle under her!!

I had to finish a few blocks before putting her together yesterday... i want to make sure my 6'2 husband can cuddle with me under it!

Then... the pattern... i asked for wonky improv blocks in random sizes. I lOVEd Ashley's ( film in the fridge ) quilt... but needed one a tad more boyish for my house ;)

after that... it was easy peasy... just stripped them and sewed them up!

A couple fav blocks... and shots... of how wonky it is :) ...

and then wa'lah... a perfect mix of girlie and urban!!! just my style... i'm in luuuuvv!!
( 54 X 68 )

Now on to my ( me + you ) quilt ( again ) with my dear friend Joan! and yes.. i know it the same as my Life Aquatic quilt... but since my hubby nixed the tangerine... i'm starting over! Anyone interested in my tangerine blocks??? Just let me know! :)

enablers!!!

enablers??? Love them or hate them... i guess that depends on the fix. for me... i lOVE them ;) and ooohhhh boy did i have a weekend full of them!! First Kerri and I FINALLY made a plan stick enough so that she actually did come down this weekend and stay with me ;) And what did she bring a BFF... ohhh... only every heavenly thing i could want!!! New Joel Dewberry, Hope Valley, Kei honey comb & daisy dots, Japanese treats... Kona...

All the new Munki Munki from Heather Ross and a violet bunch of Anna Maria Horner...

some tasty Love from Amy Butler with a splash of Bubble Gum basics... and if i wasn't already swimming in crack for a fabric junkie...

Terri brought over some fabulous Orla Kiely & Flea Market Fancy... she picked up for me!!! I thought i was on cloud nine... then....

Sarah showed up with THIS!! Anna Maria Horner Bohemian... now this is how a girl likes to party!! I just can't even express the happiness i have been feeling every time i walk past these piles ( since you KNOW i can't yet put them away!!! ) LOL

So I say... K E E P your enablers... i sure as heck know i am!! They are the most generous, kind, fun girls that i'm proud to call my friends and i'm not giving them up for nothing!!! ;)

Wait to see the fantastic photo's Miss Sarah took at Modern Domestic on Saturday night!! Man... she is one talented cookie!!

recycled polyester dress

garden collection dresscoatdetailscoat2
dress made out of recycled polyester: The Garden Collection H&M * military coat: Mango * sandals: H&M * watch: Michael Kors * earrings: Chanel

i think i just found my most favorite dress ever!
it looks like a wedding dress but i really don´t care!
i have this in red too (which seems more appropriate), but i think i like it better in cream.
it is so pretty.
i wore this to grab some lunch with the baby and the boy. talk about dressing up!
i wouldn´t mind getting married in this or grabbing another lunch. :)
but to play down the prettiness, i added this military coat from mango which i really really love too.
the weather is not that gorgeous anymore like from the last post but at least i have an excuse to wear my thin coats and jackets again!
i thought that was not gonna happen this year!

if you´re sick of my garden collection posts, i am sorry but there are still loads coming up!
i think i bought half of the collection? ;)
everything is just so pretty and spring-y! not to mention cheap and good for the environment!
wow i sound like an advertisement! but i swear i am not getting paid to do this!

Home upDates!

This week has been full of inspiration for myself!! Between working on my new house, blog design ( Kerri and i revamped our's today! ), kick off of a new swap, sewing VQB ( virtual quilting bee ) blocks and upcoming secret project... i am exhausted!! Luckily... Kerri will be coming down this weekend to pump me up! We're gonna have a small get together at my place on Saturday and then hop over to see some friends at the ( Modern Domestic ) Portland Modern Quilting Guild sewing night!! I can't wait to post tons of pictures!!

In hopes of not looking completely unorganized... i've been working on my house a bit... i purchased a new shelf from Ikea and moved my bed... i think i'm liking the aqua head board now... which is a great out come... since i was really loathing repainting it! LOL

Then i added in some drapes to my sewing nook... the seasons here in Portland... are finally starting to change and I really needed to block some of the sunshine... i chose red ( which surprised me ) and again... i kinda like it ;)

Then i reorganized a little too... i really, really don't want to look like a piggy when friends come over! hehehe...

OOhhh and a quick up date on my ( ode' to Denyse Schmidt " bunch of squares " ) gallery wall... i added in the grey and am slowly moving downward ;)

and just for fun... a sneeky peeky of the fabrics... i'll be using in my secret project! :)

I'm off to clean more!!...

here´s my new shorty short bangs for those who requested! ;)
i actually like them first after a few days when they have grown a bit. (we shot this right after my salon trip.)
anywayz, for those who hasn´t had the chance to check out the garden collection yet, you better go tomorrow and have a look!
i am pretty sure you´ll find something that will suit you.
honestly i like almost everything.
so GO! :-)
can you believe i am wearing a top and shorts without tights or a jacket at all?
i am not exaggerating but it is 22 degrees over here!
i had a leather jacket with me but i was just sweating the whole time.
no kidding.

Drunk Love for Miss Amber...

This month in my [ Bee ] - autiful virtual quilting bee... Amber ( One ShabBy Chic ) asked for 12", drunk lOVE blocks!! and boy were they a blast to make!! She sent us Denyse Schmidt's new Hope Valley fabrics and said we could add in some of our own if we liked... so i did! Hope you like Amber!!

and the weekend couldn't have been completed with out a quick trip to a local Target for some more Liberty of London goodies... ;)

plus... i'm very excited to get out my blocks from my ( Sew New To Me Virtual Quilting Bee ) and start the process of putting them together!! I thought originally that i would sash all the blocks in white... but now i'm think Kona Ash and maybe even a little connector of coal or lime??? HHhhmmm... we'll see?? ;)

Have a great week!!

i own so many hats but never have the opportunity to wear them all.
so i promised myself to make the effort to wear one each post if it needs one! ;)
what do we think about this one?
anywayz, i had my bangs cut today super short! ;)
and who doesn´t love the natural lighting in these photos? i do!

what have you all been doing these days guys?

Improv Blocks for Miss Julie ~ Jay Bird quilts

One of the most creative things i am lucky to participate is... is my quilting bee's that I'm a humble member of!! They truly allow me to play with fabrics and designs that i may never had thought of or been able to have the ability to play with!! This month in the { bee } imaginative virtual quilting bee... i was able to play with Julie's Mingle fabrics... and they were FUN!! I sure hope she likes where my head was at! LOL...

If you'd like to participate in a virtual quilting bee... there are always new one starting and you can find the list here on Flickr!! They are addictive though... so be carefull!! :)
