Turtle

It's almost October but I find myself changing between shorts and jeans as the temperature varies from 10 to 20 degrees. All in one day. It seems utterly wrong though, to be showing any skin when you have to wear a scarf to prevent getting a flu. I already caught it.

ps. my Finnish readers, remember to leave your comments and emails in order to enter the Voice fashion week!

LFW #4

Today was so far the best day of London Fashion Week. That is purely thanks to Inbar Spector's outstanding collection. Maybe somewhat unwearable to every day but as an evening wear absolutely stunning. While I will be spending the rest of tonight writing my reviews and sipping hot tea, you can enjoy a little sneak peak of her incredible creations. The classical music, the styling, the lighting, the atmosphere - my first goose bumps. Love it! Topped with a one to one (ok, more like a two to one as my editor was present) interview with the adorable and talented Isralean designer.

Another long day at LFW and no matter how hard I tried to smile and be perky in these photos, I failed quite miserably. The London sky was miraculous last night though: pale pink and light blue with darker shades. So excuse the weird colours, my photoshop skills don't work that well when I'm half dead.

Last night ended to a nice restaurant along Thames called Zizzi. Italian goat's cheese pasta with white wine and chocolate melt with vanilla ice cream. The best meal I've had in a while. Got to sit next to the Face Hunter as well.

Today I have a day off and I will make the most of it, aka sleep and sort my camera out. Tomorrow and Wednesday, bring on the last days of LFW and show me what you've got!

5 am mornings and crappy compact camera photos continue. LFW day two is done and dusted although still need to do a bit of emailing and ringing people (people answer your phones!). My arse has been glued to the press lounge most of the day but at one point it was glued to the front row in a fashion show. Right now it's glued to my bed and will most likely be there till tomorrow morning.

Btw, I'm a bit in love with my new white dress as it flows really nicely in the wind. Ohh and it's petite and still too long.

A preview

Such an incredible yet exhausting day one at London fashion week. I went to three different shows and here is a little preview of what I wore (a lot of leather) and what one of the shows looked like. The quality of the photos is so poor that I hesitated whether to put these up or not but here we go. Five more days to go and I can hardly keep my eyes open. Couldn't even manage to go to the after parties due to my sleep deprivation. Not good. Red Bull, here I come.

Black and White #2

Trying out some black&white with braces but I get too big of a vibe of a rock'n roll groupie. Ok, I just googled the word groupie and according to the ever so reliable wikipedia "a groupie is a person who seeks emotional and sexual intimacy with a musician or other celebrity". Yeah. Maybe not. Some combinations are just for trying out and playing around with - this might just be one of them.

Black and White

I'm starting to get a bit excited. Mostly because my university studies will continue in a few weeks (I'm sure you all know the feeling) and secondly because London fashion week is just around the corner. I already know that I should charge my batteries as it will be a somewhat hell of 24/7 working but it's not that easy when you have guests at your house who you have to entertain. Then again, LFW will be one of the highlights of the beginning of autumn so it doesn't matter if I'll be a bit dead afterwards. My plan is however - apart from this outfit I wore yesterday - not to wear any heels till the hustle and bustle begins. My feet cannot be dead on the first day (I'm sure they will be).

FNO

My Fashion's Night Out oufit. Brilliant evening with friends even if I had a rocky start. I want to hear what your FNO was like. Tell me! Where did you go, what did you do? I walked along Oxford Street and had coconut cocktails at Liberty before getting lost at Sloane St. Was it even Sloane Street?

Red Alert

As you can see from these photos, I either have some bad issues with my frilly hair or the weather is getting unbeliavable. I blame it on the latter one. The wind is hitting 17 miles per hour, the rain won't stop and there's no sign of sunshine. This is the forecast for the past few days and for the next five days. Goodie. Maybe it was my natural instinct to wear all red so that cars could still see me in the stormy weather and not run me over. So far it has worked.

Next, trying out my Finnish..

No joo, ite asiaan. Tähän mennessä suunnitelma on toiminut kuin nakutettu, mut ottaen huomioon et miulla on vaan about nuo punaset vaatteet koko vaatekaapissa, en oikein näe suunnitelmalle jatkoa.

Summer 2011

This morning was a true wake-up call that autumn has arrived. I knew it was on its way a few weeks ago but this morning you could feel the crispness in the air and the sunlight was completely different. So I decided it was time to say goodbye to summer, not that it was such a good summer anyway (weatherwise). As a "tribute" to my first ever full summer in England, I made a collage of my summer outfits. It kind of saddens me to look at these photos because they aren't very summery. Apart from the bare legs here and there this could be an outfit collage for the autumn or maybe even spring. Ok, to the point. Which one is your favourite outfit? And why? You have 21 looks to choose from...Go!

Rescue Dress

I have named my new dress as the "rescue dress". Why? As it happens to be, somehow, I have turned myself into a part-time nurse. The position is unpaid (but I do get a lot of thank yous), mostly revolves around the bedroom (not that kind of nurse!) and surprisingly, doesn't take that much of my time after all. It's a rescue dress because it's girly and the patient is a male. Life can be simple.

Almost forgot! I joined Formspring so feel free to bomb me with questions!

Last One

For some reason this is the first outfit post where I'm wearing my dear (and only) ballerinas even though I have worn them tons. At the same time it's probably the last post with a summery outfit.

I have had my ballerinas for a few months now and no matter how comfortable they are, I always feel flat and short (that's because I am flat and short). No question it's due to the non existent heel. Need to dash now - have a date in a hospital.

ps. Has anyone else ever thought of buying clothes that are supposed to look greasy? Because mine end up looking like that at the end of the day anyway (not intended).

A-line

dress 2nd hand

Let me introduce you one of the dresses I have had for a while now but haven't been able to wear during the summer months due to the hot weather. Of course that is not the case anymore. Autumn is well on its way and the thick fabric of the gorgeous blue print dress becomes handy as the cold breeze tries to invade your body. The only thing that needs adjusting is the A-line hemline which still isn't the way I want it. Just give me time and I'll get my hands on it. Hope you all had a nice weekend, and in the UK a lovely bank holiday.

Black Leather

To my knowledge, I have never worn all black. I have to exclude fashion weeks and funerals straight away as black is kind of mandatory. So I should say, I have never willingly worn all black. Although there is the case of the little black dress. Okay, maybe I've worn all black and no one has forced it on me but my point is that I hardly ever wear all black. I can't really answer you why apart from the usual "all black is too gloomy, dark and miserable and gothic". And hot.

Yet here I am - thanks to my new boots I guess - embracing the head to toe blackness that we have all tried at some point. Now that I think of it, I have to wear all black to work as well.

Does anyone else have a blind spot when it comes to black clothes?

Turned Up

These few days have been packed with meeting people, doing research, reading and once again doing some research. On that note, can't wait for the London Fashion Week to start! Anyhow, yesterday I wanted to give my little brain a break as we went for a long bike ride to see some old friends. I wanted to be comfortable while clinging to those handlebars for my dear life, yet look like a decent human being (although I swear that's impossible after a four hour bike ride). After some Lidl shopping and adventurous drive-in McDonald's we were off to see our other friends and have a little cheese&wine night. Surprisingly, Lidl being the only shop nearby and open, their wine selection wasn't too bad. Kept me happy all night.

Time to do some more research and face the fact that autumn has begun.

A long (shopping) day in London in a casual outfit. Boyfriend t-shirt + midi pleated skirt + heels + red lipstick is all I need. Although now I need food..fashion feeds my soul not my cells.

Navy

The other day I wore all navy. Well..all navy meaning that every item had navy blue on them.

My treasure chest of second hand clothing is beginning to surprise me as I seem to forget what I have bought. Like this sailor shirt. "Where are you sailing?" was a common question on that day. "To Finland." Shame it's not true.

Head to Toe Grey

I got a bit carried away with my grey outfit yesterday but I wanted to wear all those pieces no matter what. So I did. And here we are again..wearing head to toe navy today ! Okay maybe not nail polish. More about today's outift later as I need to go and get ready for my guests. It's time for a dinner party and I have my precious little cheecakes in the oven. Pleeease let them turn out well! Lovely Friday evening everyone!
