I was tagged by the very sweet laura
The rules are:

1. Go to the 4th folder in your computer where you store your pictures.
2. Pick the 4th picture in that folder.
3. Explain the picture.
4. Tag 4 people to do the same!

Photobucket
this picture is from the fourth folder (my pregnancy folder) and this is my fourth favorite. my friend sandra took this at her house (that explains why i even did this at the first place. and i feel very comfortable with girlfriend photographers). it's very weird to look at these pictures. in a good way though.

so i tag,
lena (go check out her blog, she's pretty amazing. and please vote for her. here.)
vera (she makes the most amazing rick owens-ish jacket. check out her etsy store. here.)
aimee (lovee her style.)
maria (just discovered her blog. gorgeous style. check her out!)

from left: zara home (some towels), zara (dc pants, not on sale, booo!) and some cardigans, bershka, mango, stradivarius
i did pretty much damage on my wallet (i allowed myself to buy stuff from the birthday money i received) today. :)
NEW new year's resolution: i am only allowed to buy a piece of clothing or shoe if i sell one from my wardrobe. BALANCE, EQUILIBRIUM people.

Photobucket
these are the dc pants i bought as seen on betty. the boots were on sale but still too expensive for me. maybe they're still there the next time i come? and further reduced? crossing fingers.

i lied, i bought more shoes.

dress: pimkie
bag: thrifted
gladiators: zara

since i find it impractical to buy clothes now (although this dress is an exception, its a size s which i think would still fit good after i lose the baby weight), i resorted to buying shoes everytime i had the chance. and trust me, there's always a way for shoes to catch my attention, online or on-store. hihi. the gold gladiators were on sale at zara so i got them. and they turrn out to be pretty comfortable, so, worth it. and weird enough, buying heels (i can barely step into them, let alone walk in them) seems to be so practical to me this time, although it's really NOT. the last three days i bought four shoes with heels. yeah right.

the baby's pram came today. its orange and brown. very cool. and i practiced walking with it in my heels. haha. i looked good on the mirror. dunno in real life. we'll see.

Combat boots = Me for FALL!

as i was checking lulu´s blog at chictopia, she posted these pictures from emma cook runway collection AW.
i am soo into this whole doc martens, combat boots trend but i don´t really know how they´d look on me. nevertheless, there´s no stoppin me from ordering these craaazzyy white patent combat heeled boots at mango online. i have so much on my mind right now on how i´m gonna rock it after miguel comes out. I AM SUCH A COOL MOM. haha!

feast on!
don´t they remind you of these tall doc booties from Chloe?

crazy right? but not as crazy as the red ones lulu and rumi are rocking. i am not yet rock star enough to don those.

wait.. wait.. wait.. not yet finished showing off my shoe finds. :)

here´s our girl Nicole wearing the legit ones.

since i will never be able to afford the real ones (louboutin for nine west, can you hear me? haha) and yes i don´t own a pair of black patent pumps in what (100 pairs i own? yes kill me now), i settled down for these from Buffalo London. they´re not bad, i am kinda in love with them. So if you can spot the difference, good for you, because i don´t and i don´t care. :) you´ll be seeing me in these pushing my baby´s buggy struttin around the town. dress & tube top: H&M
flip flops: havaianas

but for now, i would just have to keep on wearing them flip flops because i am getting heavier each second and wearing heels feel like wearing shoes with a bed of nails inside it. ohh yes i´ve tried!

You Don't Mess With My Man

last night, i was craving for some lollipops. yeah, the candy. yesterday, it was fried chicken. it just popped out of my crazy, spoiled mind and i had to have it. so off my boyf went. to the nearest gasoline station (everything here is closed on sundays except gas stations, i know, soooo b0ring). but when he came back, he had like a bagful of goodies. i asked him what's in the bag and he showed me. there was this men's magazine with a naked girl in front. the conversation went like this,

me: what's up with this?
he: you don't seriously think imma stand at a queue of 10 guys just buying a lollipop, do you?
me: ok. but you cold have bought me vogue instead.
he: then i have to buy three playboys for that.
me: ok, now i got it.

that was soo sweet and funny of him. i didn't realize this would be a serious subject for boys. what made me laugh even more is that he had bought an energy drink with the magazine just to prove his point. i love him even more. :)

off i go now finding some serious way to get rid of these stuff. i can't imagine describing every piece and taking pictures for ebay. that would make me go craaazzy.. these should be gone before the baby arrives.

Here They Are!!! :)

i am so proud to have these pictures. i know someday, when i am 60 years old, i´ll look back at these and tell, "dayymm i look hawt!"... haha! kidding aside, i never thought this pregnancy will be a breeze. but thanks to all your kind words, aside from the vomiting part, this is the best experience i have or will ever have pre-motherhood times. i am so glad that you can be part of that chapter and i hope you continue to be with me in the next days. this blog may not be all about clothes anymore, i hope you still read and share your thoughts!we did these at her house not a studio and that´s me laughing, as they told me i am on the wrong side. you are not supposed to see that clothes pin holding that piece of cloth! lol

and this one was because the boyf was doing all those funny faces as he thought the camera was not yet rolling. he´s camera shy by the way! you could tell. peace!

p.s. the photo shoot was so fun, and i will never have done it thanks to you pam and sandra! you rocked! although this was soo akward (taking my clothes off and stuff) you made it easier and the results are exactly what i expected them. thanks to pam and sandra! woot to both of u!

The Day My Life Changed...

is the day i learned that you were growing inside me.

you washed away all my fears, the day you started kicking.

you introduced me to an all new aspect of happiness, the day you looked at me in that small monitor.

please come out healthy and brave, that's all i ask of you.

i will take good care of you, care for you and love you unconditionally.

i can't wait to see you.

THE BABY SHOWER.

THE COOL GUESTS

this was not your typical baby shower. i threw it for myself and not somebody else for me. i hate surprises and i hate parties that aren't according to my liking. i didn't want stork decorations all over the house. i just wanted this balloon garland (which my boyfriend did for me)
THE SPECIAL REQUEST

and all the food that would be served was everything what i wished for. i made sushi, spring rolls, rice, chicken curry, pasta, tomato and mozzarella and tons of dessert

THE SUGAR BOMB

(flan, mango float and a baby cake which my friend baked for me).

i didn't want corny baby games, so i decided it would be a karaoke night. i have this special microphone (magic sing), it's a mic that has 1100 songs in it. it has a keypad on it, type the song number (from the song list) and then you sing. :) simple mechanism but very fun. the party started at 8 and ended at 3 am. it was really a blast!

THE HIGHLIGHT

i also did not want to unpack gifts the whole night and the spotlight on me. so what they did, they all contributed and bought me one gift. something i really need. a very cool car seat. it has so many functions, it's like the bmw for car seats. haha.

THE GIFT

the PROS.

don't get me wrong. i don't find this whole pregnancy a disaster. it's wonderful. :) even for a neophyte like me.

1. i can now work half as hard as i did before. HAHA. ;) (everybody's like, "Hey, take it slow. You're pregnant.")

2. i can now eat twice the normal portion as i usually do. without receiving THE look.

3. i can be moody and expect that my boyfriend will understand. it's the HORMONES!

4. i can order watermelon in the middle of winter if i want to, and i don't care how or where the hell he gets it, i want it.

5. when my baby moves (and he does this often), it's crazy but it makes me sooo happy to know he's there. inside me. growing.

6. i have never been excited for a doctors appointment ever in my life except, NOW. i love ultrasound. not only feeling him, also seeing him. :)

7. funny part, every time i hear get low by florida on the radio, he kicks. :) what a cool boy i have growing inside me.

8. NO MONTHLY PERIODS AND ABDOMINAL PAINS! how cool is that? :)

9. and everytime my boyfriend talks to the baby in my tummy, i just feel like crying. EVERYTIME. we have these all kinds of baby magazines given by the doctor, and in one of them was, "... the baby in the seventh month can now recognize the mother's voice, blah blah blah...", and so he talks to the baby as often as he could so that the baby could as well recognize his voice.
awwww..

i don't know if i missed something here and this may sound as cliche, but pregnancy completes me as a woman. no offense to women who are not able to be pregnant (i don't mean you're incomplete), but it is really euphoria knowing that you are growing a new life inside you. it's such a wonder.

the CONS.

i really don't know what to tell you about my pregnancy, but i will try. based on my experience, it can be the most wonderful thing that could happen to a girl but can also suck big time. why? here's why:

1. my pants dont fit me anymore. (they do, but the buttons won't close. buttons open= pants will fall down)

2. can't buy bigger clothes because it's impractical. i would like to think that i would return to my original size. hoping and wishing and praying.

3. won't resort to pregnancy clothes either. waste of money.

4. morning sickness and all that shit.

5. can't eat sushi. this is soo hard. i admit i cheated 1 (or maybe 2 or 3) times. sorry.

6. can't smoke, which a good thing on the other hand. but there are times when the cancer sticks look very very tempting.

7. i miss coffee and cola. not that i completely stopped drinking but not so much like i did before. CAFFEINE ADDICT. haha

8. the pain. (hip, back, leg, WHOLE BODY)

9. my heels would have to rest for some months now.

10. the fear of having the stretch marks. and bye bye bikinis forever. thus, applying bottles and bottles of cream every night.

and, THE LABOR. don't even get me started on that one. i am scared to death. i am such a weakling.

The Mode Junkie is Pregnant! :)

ok, so i have been completely alienating my blog for a while now. but i have a very REASONABLE reason (haha) to explain. ;) i am 7 months pregnant. YES. all the while i was posting my what i wore outfits, i was pregnant.

so this is just a quick update. i have done a 'demi moore ala vanity fair photoshoot with my tummy, so i'll post them as soon as i get hold of the pics.

i love you guys. i hope you haven't forgotten about me. i am not doing an agathe move here.
i am so excited to inject baby and soon-to-be-mommy fashion in this blog soon. oh my god, i will have to do a long post of my last shopping trip to the baby department in h&m!

my friends are throwing me a baby shower, and here's the invitation. i volunteered to do it. lurve photoshop. :)

and yes it's a baby boy!
