Turtle

It's almost October but I find myself changing between shorts and jeans as the temperature varies from 10 to 20 degrees. All in one day. It seems utterly wrong though, to be showing any skin when you have to wear a scarf to prevent getting a flu. I already caught it.

ps. my Finnish readers, remember to leave your comments and emails in order to enter the Voice fashion week!

Jahas, sitä ois sitten niinku viisi kahden lipun pakettia jaossa Voicen muotiviikoille! Elikkäs eikun vaan kommenttia kommenttilootaan sähköpostiosoitteen kera. (Mielenkiintoisilla kommenteilla on tietysti sitten paremmat mahikset.) Liput on perjantaille 7.10. jolloin on vuorossa

Fashiolista

I can't deny the fact that I am always browsing the internet to find out what's new out there. So, in order to make my life easier and after a reader suggested I should check out Fashiolista, I decided to have a look. I did, and I joined. The website is intriguing because it gives you a better insight to what people like, stuff you might not see on their blogs for example. Not sure how long this love will last but I am giving it a go. You can find me under the name elswears. Happy browsing!

LFW Snapshots #2

Had a busy weekend of birthday celebrations and then again a lazy one away from the internet. Was quite refreshing. But I'm back in business again with my second and last London fashion week snapshot collage. I miss LFW already even if it was super crazy, busy and stressful. Sniff. Here's to that (holding up a piece of chocolate and hot tea): Cheers! (Thank god no one saw that).

Here's tomorrow's timetable:
9.00 - 10.00 am alarm clock (haven't decided yet)
10.30 am long breakfast
11.30 am packing stuff for a photoshoot
1.30 - 5.00 pm photoshoot
6.30 pm dinner
7.30 - 10.00 pm catching up with fashion week, blogging, net browsing, the usual
11.00 pm bedtime (5 am wake up next day)

LFW Goodies

Fashion weeks wouldn't manage without sponsors and London is no different. Let's face it, most of the sponsors are make-up and hair product companies, the likes of The Body Shop, MAC, label.m and Sebastian. I had my fair share of beauty products and treatments and I am looking forward to trying them on. I'm a bit worried though, as I used my Indiedays Lookbook gift card a few weeks ago and it's still on its way. If anyone sees it, it's mainly make-up to refill my empty make-up bag. Well..it was empty.

Some fashion houses are known for making the most gorgeous invitations and even if I didn't get one for Mulberry, I still love how the invite gives you a little preview of the collection. Besides the invitations, the 3rd and last photo sum up my essential and most important items during LFW: my press pass and the newspapers. Oh and my absent red lipstick.

LFW Snapshots #1

Here are a few snapshots I took between the shows and writing reviews. It's a shame I couldn't take more (there is a #2 coming up soon though) as there were so many beautiful people to photograph and interesting little details that will definately give me some inspiration this autumn. There just wasn't enough time. No wonder the one and only Tommy Ton had even advertised to get an assistant to help him!

London street style never fails to be uniquely aspiring and utterly stunning to watch. Love the eccentricism!
Now, back to the normal world and quite frankly, to sleep.

LFW #4

Today was so far the best day of London Fashion Week. That is purely thanks to Inbar Spector's outstanding collection. Maybe somewhat unwearable to every day but as an evening wear absolutely stunning. While I will be spending the rest of tonight writing my reviews and sipping hot tea, you can enjoy a little sneak peak of her incredible creations. The classical music, the styling, the lighting, the atmosphere - my first goose bumps. Love it! Topped with a one to one (ok, more like a two to one as my editor was present) interview with the adorable and talented Isralean designer.

LFW #3

Another long day at LFW and no matter how hard I tried to smile and be perky in these photos, I failed quite miserably. The London sky was miraculous last night though: pale pink and light blue with darker shades. So excuse the weird colours, my photoshop skills don't work that well when I'm half dead.

Last night ended to a nice restaurant along Thames called Zizzi. Italian goat's cheese pasta with white wine and chocolate melt with vanilla ice cream. The best meal I've had in a while. Got to sit next to the Face Hunter as well.

Today I have a day off and I will make the most of it, aka sleep and sort my camera out. Tomorrow and Wednesday, bring on the last days of LFW and show me what you've got!

5 am mornings and crappy compact camera photos continue. LFW day two is done and dusted although still need to do a bit of emailing and ringing people (people answer your phones!). My arse has been glued to the press lounge most of the day but at one point it was glued to the front row in a fashion show. Right now it's glued to my bed and will most likely be there till tomorrow morning.

Btw, I'm a bit in love with my new white dress as it flows really nicely in the wind. Ohh and it's petite and still too long.

A preview

Such an incredible yet exhausting day one at London fashion week. I went to three different shows and here is a little preview of what I wore (a lot of leather) and what one of the shows looked like. The quality of the photos is so poor that I hesitated whether to put these up or not but here we go. Five more days to go and I can hardly keep my eyes open. Couldn't even manage to go to the after parties due to my sleep deprivation. Not good. Red Bull, here I come.

Inspiration for LFW

As I'm getting ready for the hectic London fashion week, I thought it was only natural to look at some outfits sported at the NFW. Can't help but admire the gorgeous pieces and combinations. If only money would grow in the trees.. Time to go to bed and earn some money tomorrow. The alarm is set for 4.50 am. Good times.

Black and White #2

hat Primark
shirt 2nd hand

Trying out some black&white with braces but I get too big of a vibe of a rock'n roll groupie. Ok, I just googled the word groupie and according to the ever so reliable wikipedia "a groupie is a person who seeks emotional and sexual intimacy with a musician or other celebrity". Yeah. Maybe not. Some combinations are just for trying out and playing around with - this might just be one of them.

Black and White

shirt, dress & jeans H&M

I'm starting to get a bit excited. Mostly because my university studies will continue in a few weeks (I'm sure you all know the feeling) and secondly because London fashion week is just around the corner. I already know that I should charge my batteries as it will be a somewhat hell of 24/7 working but it's not that easy when you have guests at your house who you have to entertain. Then again, LFW will be one of the highlights of the beginning of autumn so it doesn't matter if I'll be a bit dead afterwards. My plan is however - apart from this outfit I wore yesterday - not to wear any heels till the hustle and bustle begins. My feet cannot be dead on the first day (I'm sure they will be).

FNO

My Fashion's Night Out oufit. Brilliant evening with friends even if I had a rocky start. I want to hear what your FNO was like. Tell me! Where did you go, what did you do? I walked along Oxford Street and had coconut cocktails at Liberty before getting lost at Sloane St. Was it even Sloane Street?

London Fashion's Night Out

Anyone who doesn't know yet, today is the day we have been waiting for (for a little while anyway). It's Vogue London Fashion's Night Out! Shops around Oxford Street, Bond Street and so on are open till the late hours, there's cocktails, offers, style spotting, celebrities... Who knows, maybe even free stuff. What is certain, is that everyone around the world should join in. I will be there and hopefully I will see you there!
